Feeding the masses & La Grande football

Another day of harvest the peppers were great for the pizza I made that weekend. I sure love the bounty of a garden. I made these into sauce to share throughout the year. I made 2 crockpots full of spaghetti for high school kids for two different occasions. Not having small babies I'm able to participate more than I have in the past. I enjoy getting to know the kids peers and seeing some more of what they experience.
The boys were heading up to La Grande for a late football game. I knew they would be hungry if their last meal was lunch. So I met the boys with hamburgers. I did not have time to make enough for everyone but gave them to the first 20 that came to me.
With an excess of hamburger from killing the bull projects like these are possible. I also made peanut butter oatmeal chocolate chip cookies.
We sampled to make sure they tasted good. Homegrown tomatoes with hand-pressed patties are so delicious.
Harold sent me pictures from Wyoming. He sure is a handsome talented guy.

For activity days we had a birthday party for president Nelson who turned 100. We played a trivia game, and charades, made birthday cards, and decorated cupcakes.
The kids had a good time.
We watched the football game at home in comfort. It was the best high school sports production we had seen. The announcer was personal, there were advertising commercials, and the score was constantly on the screen.
Mark played hard. His white jersey and pants were so filthy after this game. I scrubbed and scrubbed to get them clean. Finally, after soaking and scrubbing, I used a heated pressure washer and they came clean. Lessons in cleaning with each sport. The soot from the fires was just sitting on the turf field. They were a tough team but Vales's strong lines shut down their effort.

This is a primary play Mark blocking through the middle for number 4 to run the ball. They are working on timing but most the time this works like a charm.

I also got this random picture of Ms. Anna from a person that knew other people in the family.
We work to keep up with the busy kids. And try to be in the right places at the right time. While trying to keep up with the farm and repair shop work. We are sure thankful for all these good people and happenings in our life.
