From all that snow we had a few days of flooding. The river was extra-ordinarily high. The levee system showed it's strength and usefulness in preventing the local town from flooding. We loaded up the car with our family and went sight seeing. I remember times like these from my own childhood. Water has fascinated me for a long time.
At home the runoff from our fields similarly overwhelmed the small culvert drain. Almost pouring over the road to the canal. We shared in the reality happening around us.
It was a sizeable chunk of our fields. It is interesting how water really shows the lay of the land.
Neighbors below us close to the river also had their farm fields covered with flood water.

This field is easily 15-20 feet below the roadway and that field is full of water.
This was a surprise as we had just traveled that stretch of the road getting those pictures from above a few hours before. I was thankful to get home. We are thankful to be safe and sound and for the time off. Kids had a day off from school because of the possibility of flooding. We worked here at home. I'm never sad when we get time to be together tackling any of the many projects waiting on us here. Another experience in the books. We are blessed.
