Pi day and the good springtime

Pi day came and went. We did not let it go without celebration. Andrea really enjoyed rolling and re-rolling her bits of crust. We made 2 apple and 1 pumpkin.

Everyone was very happy to have some pie. With the high price of eggs, over $5.00 a dozen we don't make egg rich desserts very often.
The next day Bruce was invited to a birthday party. Andrea thought I would be bringing home cake. She was very sad when I did not have any cake in hand. So we looked up a depression era cake recipe with no butter and no eggs. She made that pretty much by herself. I measured the amounts but she dumped them in and stirred and stirred. She was very happy that she could lick the spatula as there were no eggs.
And a few days later we went want watched the local spelling bee for a while where Ms. Millie competed at the 6th grade level.

We also found the first flower of spring we now have a whole patch of yellow. I love when spring returns.

The kids are proclaiming they need shorts the weather is so warm. It's just nice to be outside and to soak up the goodness of where we live. We are very blessed.
