Millie

Millie had a recital weekend. On Friday she completed in the music festival where she played two pieces for a judge. She received superior markings. Then on Sunday she had a recital. Her last recital was rough. She forgot her pieces and had to use her books, this time she played the pieces smoothly and without problems. I was very happy with her growth.
In between the music she worked on her science fair project. She made a volcano. I love that her siblings share the experience with her, ohhing and awing, and offering helping hands while she took pictures. This is Bruce's arm.

And Afton adding the baking soda.
Vinegar I was so thankful I had picked up on a very recent grocery run. We don't use a lot of vinegar but I thought its good to have on hand. Yep, it is a key part of the volcano eruption experience. It was much less expensive than the other vinegars I have here for cooking.
Success a flowing volcano.
Last year Mark and Reed were taught to make a balm from the buds of poplar trees. Reed used the finished product throughout football season. While working in the yard this weekend I found these buds and sent a photo to Mark asking if they were ready to ferment again.

Spring is teasing it's arrival. Life is moving again. People are happier birds are singing, as I walked in the moonlight the killdeer were trilling around me. There is positive hope in the air after the long days of winter it's nice to only wear long sleeves to feel the sun on your face and enjoy being out of doors. Weather is so much a part of our agriculturaly based life. I've been thinking how interesting and probably not coincidental that the Son of God- Jesus Christ, shares the title with the Sun of our universe that give light and life to  our planet. I think there is a strong connection there in similar properties. I love more days of sunlight and warmth. I love studying and working to be more trusting in the Savior. We are blessed.
