7.10.24 4th of July flags and fireworks

4th of July starts before the sun rises to climb the silo and hoist the American Flag. This year was no different. I'm always impressed at Gregs ability to carryon traditions he has had since youth. He was right there with the kids on top of the silow surveying the farm and showing his patriotic spirit.

There have been some additions of wi-fi repeaters but the top of the silo is still an empowering feat of strength and courage to go so high off the ground.
It's also comforting to see the birds eye view of all we are working to grow and manage on the acres below.

This year we have some interesting trouble spots. Presumeably wire worm destruction.
But mostly the land is green the corn is even and maturing nicely. The cow herd is growing as we decided to keep and breed everything with cattle prices being high.

The day ended with fireworks for these delighted kids. Uncle Richard is so good to share this tradition with us.

Livy caught a shirt at the parade.
Millie earned a shirt from running a 5k with her friend,
Afton earned her shirt from an earlier race experience.
And Alia just had the best time with her cousins she constantly talks about.
Bruce enjoying life as always.
And at the end of a long day it's always fun to catch your breath reading a story.
We love America and we love our life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness. Life is good and we are so blessed.
