3.9.20 Enjoying the Park & cousins

Afton was gifted a package or Oreos from her generous uncle Kevin. She made sure to hide them in her drawer under her clothes so her siblings wouldn't get them before her. She also made sure to eat them quickly so she got them all to herself. Kevin is so thoughtful to make sure the younger ones get unique experiences like this. Being a youngest child he understands the need to just have something to yourself sometimes.

We were able to spend some time at the park last weekend with our cousins. Sickness, busyness, space, and general life has prevented our interaction since Christmas time. We missed getting to play, it was a delight to spend some time with them all. Unfortunately the nice weather was hampered by some breezy conditions but the lure of slides, swings, and the large cement area for skateboarding enticed the kids enough to run and play for a while.

I had shopped in preparation for a picnic but when feeling the weather decided the kids would be too cold to want to eat, I planned wrong and instead we watched cousins munch but it was ok.

The under two crowd loved the swings. Of course they are not coordinated enough to provide momentum, they were happy for a while and the wind was less in their spot of the playground. It was so nice to be outside and to visit with smart ladies who have lots of good ideas and thoughts.

The park use to be a staple part of going to town nowdays we get in the stores and we get home. Seeing the joy and remembering to carve out some time is important for these younger ones. I'm thankful the smart ladies in my life give invitation to make that happen sometimes. Thanks cousins for a fun hour of playing, we love you.
